Autumn Bucket List Inspo

It’s that time of year again my friend. The time of year where the leaves outside my bedroom window begin their evolution from green to red, the time of the year where I have to wear long sleeves, the time when school begins and hot tea becomes a commodity again.

It’s Autumn!
Even though it’s technically a few weeks before the season truly begins, with school, cooler temperatures, and leaves changing, I think it’s safe to say that it is now Autumn! (Side note, I like to say Autumn instead of Fall because it’s so much more poetic and beautiful).

If you’ve been here for a few months you may remember that at the beginning of Summer I made a Summer Bingo Bucketlist. After that post, I did my very best to complete every item on the list. I didn’t succeed 100%, but I completed more items on that bucket list than any other bucket list I’ve ever made, and got bingo twice. That’s what happens when you make your goals attainable, spend some time making the list cute, and put it in a place where you can see it daily.
I loved it so much (and you guys seemed like you loved it too), so I decided to make one for Autumn.

This time of year gets so busy, it can be hard to slow down and enjoy the beautiful things all around us. If you couldn’t tell, I would HIGHLY recommend you make a bingo bucket list (or other bucket list) to romanticize autumn.

Without further ado, let me show you my bucket list and overload you with ideas for yours!

I’m obsessed with how my bucket list came out. I free handed the outer border and the lettering, it’s not perfect but that’s part of its charm. I jazzed it up with some autumnal stickers and washi tape, then drew in the lines (guided). In the squares I put little doodles next to the words because I think it’s fun, but you could use stickers or omit images all together.

Before you go crazy adding in activities, remember to put a free space in the middle of your bucket list. This can be for anything surprising, unusual, or special that happens this Autumn! I forgot to put mine in so it’s not centered.
Alrighty, let’s get to the ideas for your best autumn ever!

  • Paint or carve a pumpkin
  • Press autumn leaves
  • Frolic (I'm not going to explain this, because if you know, you know.)
  • Make a pie (apple, pumpkin, chocolate, chicken, steak and kidney, whatever floats your boat)
  • Take a night walk (specifically on a clear, crisp night when the stars are out)
  • Visit a museum
  • Learn how to knit or crochet
  • Get a chai
  • Make a chai (may I suggest this recipe by my friend Pearl?)
  • Have a candlelight reading night. (Light candles, turn off all the lights, get cosy by a fire or in bed and read. Snacks are welcome and encouraged.)
  • Make hot apple cider (heat up apple cider with cinnamon sticks, cloves, and orange slices)
  • Go apple picking (my favorite thing ever)
  • Go pumpkin picking
  • Read a classic (a few recommendations include Jane Eyre, Northanger Abbey, Frankenstein, and A Little Princess)
  • Buy a sweater
  • Do a corn maze
  • Have a Harry Potter marathon
  • Do nothing at all
  • Go to a fair or carnival or other autumnal festival
  • Make soup
  • Go bird watching
  • Go on a hayride
  • Read Peanuts comics (to me this feels so autumnal because I grew up watching Happy Thanksgiving Charlie Brown)
  • Sit outside and write about the things you hear
Picture

  • Take time to make your space and life more hygge
  • Have an oldies dance party (a few song recommendations are "Autumn in New York" by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, "Autumn Leaves" by Nat King Cole, "When October’s Gone" by Rosemary Clooney, and I’ve Got Plenty to Be Thankful For by Bing Crosby)
  • Hand out candy to trick-or-treaters
  • Read a spooky book under the covers
  • Memorize a poem (how about "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe or "October" by Robert Frost?)
  • Decorate your room for autumn
  • Go on a day trip (Go anywhere that strikes your fancy)
  • Tea and nature (make a cup of tea, leave your phone inside, and go outside to look at nature)
  • Darling desi marathon (okay, so lots of people like to binge Gilmore Girls, anime, Friends, Anne With an E etc. this time of year. But I’m not big into TV shows so I thought it would be fun to binge darling desi’s autumn content.)
  • Have a halloween candy party (buy lots of candy and gorge yourself)
Picture
  • Buy/make/eat apple cider donuts
  • Scrapbook
  • Watch a cheesy Hallmark movie
  • Send people thank you notes for the impact they have on your life
  • Make gingerdoodles (i love this recipe)
  • Learn something new
  • Wake up to see the sun as it rises over the autumn leaves (this is getting easier now that it’s getting light later)
  • Make a gratitude list
  • Try something randomly pumpkin spice flavored
  • Jump in a pile of leaves
  • Go antiquing
  • Style outfits based on your favorite book characters (just for fun haha)
  • Spend quality time with friends
  • Do a sewing project (this is still on my list since I didn’t do it over the summer)
  • Have a dark academia study day (aka, dress up like you’re at Hogwarts, make lots of tea, light candles, play ambiance videos and romanticize it to the max.)
  • Get a pastry
  • Write on an old typewriter or with a fountain or quill pen.
  • Bake bread
  • Create a photo album of the season (this can be physical, or just on your phone)
Are you planning on creating a bucket list? What are some fun things you want to do the autumn?

I want to do all of these things now!!! I might just have to do most of these things. I'm going to change into a fall inspired outfit later for when I go out to supper. I'm going to bring a classic book with me. My current TBR for autumn is Anne of Green Gables, Frankenstein, and The Graveyard Book, though I'd be open to more! Happy Autumn, Belle!

Belle Autumn is a gorgeous and invigorating Season. The house is starting to look like Fall. Recently purchased a few new things for Halloween and Autumn.
