Welcome To An Old Fashioned Girl!

Hey there! Welcome! I'm so excited to finally start my blogging journey!
First things first, my name is Belle and I am a teenaged writer who is passionate about Jesus.  You may be wondering just exactly who I am, so let me tell you a bit about me!

I am a young writer and aspiring novelist, I have written and published three articles with Church.Production Magazine which has been such a blessing! I am also working on my first novel! I mainly write in the fantasy and historical genres, but love experimenting with all types of stories.

I love the little things in life, I believe that the most beautiful moments are the small ones. Laughing, singing, picking a pretty flower, eating something delicious, or having a meaningful conversation. 

Some of my favorite things include -talking a long walk enjoying New England weather. Drinking large cups of earl grey tea, singing along to show tunes (right now I love Matilda the Musical!), reading classics (Little Women and Anne of Green Gables anyone?), baking cookies and inventing new cookie recipes, pretending to be a literary heroine, and writing stories. 

What is An Old Fashioned Girl?
An Old Fashioned Girl is inspired by the classic novel with the same title by Louisa May Alcott. I was inspired to create a place to share my thoughts on the simple things in life - the old fashioned things. I love history and literature so I decided to start there. But as I thought about it, I began to realize that this would also be an amazing outlet to share my faith, because to they eyes of the world, faith in Jesus can often seem "old fashioned."
My goal for this blog is for it to be a safe, quiet space for you to be reminded to take a minute to slow down. To refocus and refresh. So many things on the internet can be anxiety inducing, I want to create a place that is not.
I hope that my blog serves you well, encourages you and strengthens you. 

What Can I Expect From Your Posts?
My posts will cover a number of topics, but here are the things you can expect most regularly.  My blog mainly focuses on three things - literature, lifestyle, and my personal writing. I hope to provide a wide variety of ideas for you. From book lists to recipes, to devotionals and lists of fun activities, and everything in between!
