1/21/2025 3 Comments A Winter Weekend In The LifeThis past weekend, my family and I went to New Hampshire for a short winter trip. It was very fun and aesthetic so I thought that it would be fun to share it with you! We drove up on Thursday, and I enjoyed looking at the Mountains, listening to jazz, and drinking matcha. That evening we went to a place that specialized in "ice castles." In my opinion, they were more ice structures than ice castles. But it was all lit up which was neat. They also had snow tubing and ice sledding which was fun. My favorite part was a lit up walk through the woods. There really sin't much to say about it haha. That evening we had dinner in Woodstock at a pub. It was in the Woodstock Inn which is a huge place. The vibes of the pub were great with subtle live music, raw wooden chairs, and vintage cameras displayed all around. I got the Jalapeño Mac and Cheese because I was frozen from being at the ice castles. On Friday we went to Nestlenook Farms. This is a winter activity place that categorizes itself as a Victorian Recreation Park, which if that doesn't sound perfect, I don't know what does. If any of you, like me are MDBC fans, you might remember Nestlenook as the place Jess goes skating at (well she doesn't skate, but you know what I mean) in Home For The Holidays. I love ice skating, but unfortunately my feet were hurting me a lot, so I couldn't skate as much as I wanted to. But still, the Victorian setting was perfect. Later that afternoon we went to downtown North Conway to wander around a look at shops. We got coffee at a local coffee roaster, I got a brown sugar cinnamon latte. We also visited a toy store and the iconic Zeb's General Store. Of all of the general stores in New England, I feel like Zeb's is the most well known. They have a great assortment of New England gifts and foods. I bought a sticker for my scrapbook, and a bottle of my favorite soda, the weird New England classic, Moxie. Don't ask why it's my favorite, it just is. That night we had Thai takeout, peanut butter chocolate cream pie, and then went swimming at our resort's indoor pool. We had to checkout pretty early on Saturday, so we went back to downtown North Conway and went to The Bavarian Chocolate House. I got a Maine Sea Salt Caramel and a Dark Chocolate Marzipan (my favorite.) We also visited a Christmas Store (I am a Christmas all year kind of person). It was a huge store with a life size diorama village inside. Then of course we had to go home. So that was our little New Hampshire weekend. I'll see you next week! Sounds like a good time! This was fun to read as a friend and I visited northern New Hampshire early fall of last year and stayed very close to North Conway. We went to Zeb's general store as well!
