9/10/2024 11 Comments After We Were Friends - PoemHi friends! It's been a long time since I've posted a poem on the blog. So here is a sad autumnal poem. I hope you enjoy it! Dissolving, Like dried autumn leaves You tried to keep by pressing In a novel. Falling apart Like the croissants The two of us Used to share. The poets and the songwriters Spend lengthy amounts Of ephemeral time Writing about dead Love. But few talk About falling out With your dearest friend. They sing about Seeing him With other girls, But not about Your best friend giving you up For a cute boy. It’s strange isn’t it? How we pass each other in the street Trying not to meet Each Other's eye. Hows life now? Life after we were Friends. Belle ThomasBelle is the writer and dreamer behind An Old Fashioned Girl. She is passionate about reminding girls of their identity in Christ, classic books, history, Louisa May Alcott, and earl grey tea.
